Peel Paramedics say 15 have been injured, three critically, after a reported explosion at a restaurant in Mississauga.
Officials told Global News officers and paramedics were called to the Bombay Bhel restaurant in a plaza at Hurontario Street and Eglinton Avenue just after 10:30 p.m. on Thursday.
The spokesperson said three patients were taken to a Toronto trauma centre in critical condition.
Multiple patients were set to be transported to local hospitals with minor, âtraumaâ injuries. Some of the injuries were superficial, paramedics said.
The spokesperson said the building appeared to be intact, but he said there was a lot of broken glass.
There is no indication on what the cause might be.
Police said officers were in the process of sealing off the immediate area. A police spokesperson is en route to the scene and an update is expected.
More to come.
