Vice Media signs programming deal with Canada's Bell Media
Vice Media has found a new home in Canada.
The Brooklyn-based company has inked a âlong-termâ programming deal with Bell Media, making it the exclusive Canadian broadcast home to Viceâs network, Viceland, as well as its original programming.
The companies did not disclose financials of the deal or how long the deal would last.
This comes after Vice and Rogers ended their 3-year-old, $100 million deal in January. Rogers pulled Viceland Canada off the air on March 31, citing that the channel didnât âalignâ with its portfolio of brands. Analysts at the time, however, said the returns on Viceland werenât there.
Under the new deal, Vice and Viceland programming such as âThe Hunt For The Trump Tapes with Tom Arnold,â âMunchies Guide Toâ and âGaycationâ will debut on multiple Bell Media platforms, including CraveTV, in the fall of 2018.
Vice an d Bell said they will also explore co-production opportunities, as well as an advertising sales relationship to provide âsolutionsâ for clients. The two media firms have worked together before with Vice and Vice News Tonight airing on Bell TV HBO Canada.Source: Google News Canada | Netizen 24 Canada
